LEGACY

Time washes over you bearing me always
beyond the clarity of your laden image;
bearing me onward farther and further
toward a “sea change” of your previous being
which, helping to shape the future
is partaking of Now and lending new substance
out of the awesomely finite past.

          All that we shared while you were on earth
          outlives your face, and is the soil
          for further flowering; further grace.

          And evil perishes;
          but joy reverberates.
